Troubleshoot openLCA MCP
Checks for missing tools, openLCA connection errors, read-only blocks, remote streaming, and stale result handles.
The server starts but the client shows no tools
- Check the Python environment.
- Check the working directory when using python -m src.
- Check whether the client expects stdio or Streamable HTTP.
- Refresh the client's tool catalog.
MCP connects but openLCA calls fail
- Confirm openLCA Desktop is running.
- Confirm the correct database is open.
- Confirm the IPC server is running.
- Check OPENLCA_HOST and OPENLCA_PORT.
- Run test_connection.
Write calls return WRITE_BLOCKED
The server is in read-only mode. Leave this enabled unless you intentionally need to create or modify database entities.
