How-toVersion 10.2.9
Run DWSIM MCP with Docker
Start the upstream DWSIM MCP server locally with Docker and optional token authentication.
1. Pull the upstream image
bash
docker pull ghcr.io/danwbr/dwsim-mcp:10.2The upstream image supports amd64 and arm64.
2. Start a local-only server
bash
docker run -d \
--name dwsim-mcp \
-p 127.0.0.1:5901:5901 \
ghcr.io/danwbr/dwsim-mcp:10.2The server exposes POST /mcp, GET /sse, and GET /health on the published port.
3. Add token authentication
bash
docker run -d \
--name dwsim-mcp \
-p 127.0.0.1:5901:5901 \
ghcr.io/danwbr/dwsim-mcp:10.2 \
--token replace-with-a-random-secretClients can send the secret through X-MCP-Token or Authorization: Bearer <token>. In the qualified test, unauthenticated health access returned 401 and authenticated access returned 200.
4. Check health
bash
curl -H "X-MCP-Token: replace-with-a-random-secret" \
http://127.0.0.1:5901/healthjson
{"status":"ok","auth":"enabled"}Source build
bash
git clone --branch v10.2.9 https://github.com/DanWBR/dwsim10.git
cd dwsim10
git submodule update --init --recursive
dotnet build tools/DWSIM.MCPServer/DWSIM.MCPServer.csproj -c ReleaseNote
Initialize the ReoGrid Git submodule before building. The reviewed source build failed without it and passed after submodule initialization.
Remote access
Warning
The upstream HTTP transport is plain HTTP. For remote traffic, add HTTPS termination through a reverse proxy, VPN, or secure tunnel in addition to the MCP token.
