| Connect an MCP client to openLCA | openLCA MCP |
| Work with Brightway through MCP | Brightway MCP |
| Build process models, TEA, or QSDsan workflows through MCP | BioSTEAM / QSDsan MCP |
| Run municipal-solid-waste LCA workflows through MCP | SwolfPy MCP |
| Run headless process simulation through upstream DWSIM MCP | DWSIM MCP integration |
| Add LCA methodology and review workflows to an assistant | LCA Skills |
| Use the LCAgo application | LCAgo documentation when the product release is ready |
| Use the BioFlow Studio application | BioFlow Studio documentation when the product release is ready |
openLCA IPC vs openLCA MCP
openLCA IPC is the Python library. openLCA MCP is a server that exposes openLCA operations to MCP clients and uses openLCA IPC underneath.
Choose openLCA IPC when you are writing Python directly. Choose openLCA MCP when another application or agent needs a standard tool interface.
LCA Skills vs openLCA MCP
LCA Skills focuses on how an LCA study should be planned, checked, reviewed, and documented. openLCA MCP focuses on how a client calls openLCA operations. A workflow can use both, but neither replaces the other.
